In 2003, Bugsy Malone was voted 19th on a list of the 100 greatest musicals, placing it higher than The Phantom of the OperaCats, and The King and I... so what are you waiting for? Our latest production was directed by West End veterans, Peter Dedman and & Iain Court and starred Dunmow's finest young talent.

The group runs from 6:30-8:00pm every Monday at the Rowena Davey Centre! We're returning in September!

After the success of Oliver! in 2013, with its cast including fantastically talented children, it seemed the ideal time to launch a youth theatre group. The 3DeeS (‘Dunmow, dance, drama and song’), was run by Sammii Keys, Linda Keys and Lynne Evans. The group was extremely popular with children aged 8–17 in Dunmow and the surrounding area, and put on some incredible shows, including The Wizard of Oz and Honk! Jr., which was nominated for a NODA award.

There was a short hiatus when Sammii left to pursue her career elsewhere, but the group was relaunched in 2016 under the name of The Dunmow Players YOUTH THEATRE. We have since performed "Bugsy Malone" and our variety show "A Night at the West End". The group is currently run by our Youth Coordinator Emily Robshaw alongside Victoria Saunders.

The aim of the group is to provide professional training to students aged 8–18 interested in all aspects of theatre, whether it be acting, singing, dancing or backstage elements – no previous experience is necessary, but enthusiasm is! We meet at the Dunmow Day Centre at 6:30-8:00pm on Mondays during term time, and our fees are £50 per half term.
